"Praying It Out vs. Figuring It Out"

November 2008

During my time with God this one morning; The Holy Spirit dropped a revelation into my spirit concerning Proverbs 3:5-6

("Stop trying to "figure it out" and instead "pray it out." If you want to know about something or someone- "pray it out.")

I decided to share... I pray that you will receive from this what the Holy Spirit has for you in the Name of Jesus!

"Trust in the Lord with ALL your Heart..."

Pray & Seek God whole heartily about EVERYTHING! When we fail to pray about a situation, it's a sign/fact that we don't trust God for that thing and/or person.

"And lean not on YOUR own understanding..."

"Figuring it out" is using our intellect and thoughts w/ facts (sometimes) to make an assumption. We're doing it in our own might (understanding), therefore the enemy has an opportunity to distort the truth!

"In ALL YOUR ways acknowledge Him..."

When we pray, we acknowledge God! We involve who He is (every attribute) into the situation. We reverence His existence and authority! When we "figure out" we acknowledge SELF! We involve who we are in the situation, thus leaving no room for God's Grace! He resists the proud and gives Grace to the humble...

"And He SHALL direct your paths..."

You will have His answer through His guidance, authority, control, and truth!

"Praying it out" allows the Holy Spirit (Spirit of Truth) to guide you (Revelation, Knowledge & Wisdom). Prayer keeps us humble and at His feet constantly in need of His Grace and Mercies. Through prayer we acknowledge we need Him, we put Him first and we believe He has the answer and that He will answer according to His timing! Sometimes He will tell us (directly or through someone else), sometimes He will show us (immediately or through an experience) and sometimes He will do both! Either way, we must "trust" and have faith (believe) that He's heard us and He's answered!

"Figuring it out" is the world's way of making a choice leading to a decision thus sometimes ending up only being an assumption b/c we didn't involve (acknowledge) God through prayer. We decided we had everything we needed on our own (self) and didn't need to pray (God's help)!

Remember Isaiah 55:8-9 "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts."
